Music by Henry Purcell, Nicholas Lanier, Henry Lawes and others.
Samuel Pepys was an enthusiastic amateur musician and avid theatre-goer. In the acclaimed The Samuel Pepys' Show, we investigate these two passions with music by composers he played and sang with, and knew personally, drawn together with extracts from his diaries. Music by Henry Purcell, Nicholas Lanier, Henry Lawes and others will be provided by the singers and authentic string band of the Cabinet of Curiosities with Mike Ashley on the theorbo-lute, and actor Richard Ollier as Samuel Pepys. There will even be a song written by Pepys himself.
